Filipino Fans Should Still Be Careful While Watching Spider-Man: No Way Home

Updated: Jan 18, 2022

With only one day left until the Philippine release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, some Filipino fans are considering to skip the blockbuster movie because of the pandemic

January 8 2022, was a long wait for Filipino fans, as Columbia Pictures Philippines announced the delayed released date for the third Homecoming sequel. Just as MMFF was already done, Omicron surge in the country will definitely conflict the excitement of all Spidey fans.

Most probably have already booked their advance ticket purchases and ready to watch in the coming weeks, with Alert Level 3 already implemented most in the country, were thankful that most cinemas are still opening their doors for the most awaited film of “last year”. That said, Day 1 of Marvel Studios or Spider-Man films are expected to be packed and sold out, thousands of fans around the country are about to be so exposed to Covid-19 or Omicron during these times. And since it’s a Spider-Man film which is loved by children, moviegoers should be very cautious around these times.

Some of the people I know are already considering not watching film at the moment with precautions due of the pandemic. Some are already trying to sell their tickets that they have already purchased. At the end of the day, it will be just a movie that will be screened on cinemas. Although for those reasons, Filipino fans have waited almost a month waiting for the movie to be released, just in time Covid-19 numbers are raising once again.

Best advice to everyone for tomorrow that all should be discipline and obey the instructions of mall & cinema personnels. To have a safe movie experience while watching Spider-Man: No Way Home, everyone should follow the basic health & safety protocols, bring your vaccination card including a valid ID to get in the cinema. And it would be best NOT TO STAY long at malls after watching the film, head back & stay at your homes to avoid more public exposure.

The delay of No Way Home is mostly Coronavirus’ fault. With yet another upsetting news everywhere, expect that our most anticipated films this year of 2022, might have the same fate with Spider-Man. An inevitable delay, with the likes of Morbius, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Batman, Thor: Love and Thunder and other upcoming films.. Let’s all be safe this January 8 and beyond of our movie experience.

Stay safe everyone.
